Jonathan David Collins was born 26 years ago with Myelomeningocele Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. He uses a wheelchair to get him to point A to point B.
In 2012 , Jonathan found a passion for Wheelchair Fencing . He was introduced to fencing by a friend who was in the Chichester Fencing club in the United Kingdom. After that , Jonathan was introduced to his trainer Viv Mills . Viv Mills is a retired England International Wheelchair Fencer. Jonathan is the only one who is competing in fencing using a wheelchair at the Chichester fencing club .
In January of 2015 , Jonathan competed in his first competition at the Celebration Cup. It was a mini competition. Jonathan says “ It was scary , I have never done anything like that before. But I gave it my all ! “ In July of 2017 , Jonathan won a club medal for All of his hard work.
When Jonathan is not fencing , he loves playing computer games and hanging out with his friends . Jonathan’s goals for the future is to have his new fencing book released and to get his Bronze skills medal in wheelchair fencing .
